Governor Umo Eno’s Pat on the back for Ubong Nkutt

The burden of leadership is tough. Yet it is very simple. All that matters is discovering the two keys to leadership success. First, a leader’s authority is anchored on his heart for service. Then, his reign is established by righteousness. That’s why Hon. Ubong Nkutt has stolen the shine. He is the Itu Local Government Chairman. Barely six months in office. He has etched his name in gold. Sealed a legacy.

The May 8th, 2025 Itu/Ibiono Federal Constituency Townhall Meeting has come and gone. Governor Umo Eno doled out 303 million to 667 beneficiaries. Others got equipment, vehicles and buses. That’s the fifth in the series. Ikot Ekpene, Ukanafun, Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika, and Oron Federal Constituencies Townhall Meetings had been administered.

But Itu has been earth-shaking. Because of the delivery of the Itu Council Boss. Showcasing on the sideline of the Townhall Meeting. An impressive fully furnished Administrative Block at the Council Secretariat.  Inaugurated by Governor Umo Eno. That was unprecedented.

There are other things he has done. I earlier reported. He has enrolled 10 indigenes in the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Center. Paid their 2.5 million training fees for a one-month intensive training course on product manufacturing. He has graded roads. Funded JAMB preparatory classes for candidates fully sponsored by his administration for the university’s matriculation examination. Done so much more. His passion for service sans mediocrity has enticed me.

Just as his Uyo counterpart, Rt Hon. Uwemedimo Udo, PhD And the emerging Queen of Service delivery  who superintends over Ibeno LGA, Hon. Deaconess Glory Ekah Effiong. Whose ambition to serve inspired undertaking the construction of the 1.5km Mkpanak Road. Service Alone as espoused by Dr Uwemedimo Udo is their catalyst.

I’m further enthused by news seeping out of Ikot Abasi LGA. On May 2, 2025, the Council boss Hon Ime Essien flagged off the 1km Ikot Umiang Okon Road project. It’s good to observe, These leaders at the third tier consolidating the Rural Development thrust of Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda. We trust their counterparts are rising to the challenge too and shall be duly acknowledged with encomium.

For today, it is a salute to the Elephant in the mix. Hon. Ubong Nkutt please take your flowers. Itu is blessed to have you. No brakes, please.  Don’t take your foot off the service pedal.
