…charge members to be resolute, firm and recruit more followers

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rounded off her in-house strategic meeting with their coalition partners recently in the ADC Secretariat located at 84 Udotung Uboh, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State with a charge on members to shun pecuniary gains and work towards the vision of the party and rebuilding the four walls of Nigeria that had already been in ruin.
The event christened, “Strengthening Alliances for a Better Nigeria” brought together party executive from the 31 LGA of the state, stakeholders, and representatives from various allied groups, all reaffirming their commitment to building stronger political alliances focused on national development and democratic progress.
Speaking at the event, one of the coalition partners, Coalition for the Protection of Democracy (COPDEM) state Chairman, Elder Iniubong Jackson called for team work and aggressive spirit if the partner will yield its required fruit. Speaking through the state Publicity Secretary of COPDEM, Dr Saviour Ekpe, a media guru expressed the hope that the partnership is a sound one in view of their ideologies, vision and programmes of activities.
Dr Ekpe, himself an ardent Obideint added that as long as 2027 presidential election is concerned, the coalition will yield a positive fruit, “COPDEM joined ADC because we share similar ideology, ADC is a stable, sincere political party, a party that will occupy Aso Rock come 2027. I am an unrepentant supporter of Peter Obi. We will harness all arsenals including our strength, energy, strategies, and abilities to this party and be rest assured that 2027 is a done deal”.
He charged participants to guard their desires and consciences while running the race to a better Nigeria. He reminded them that money bag politicians will visit them will fake promises but they be focused and resolute, “No matter what it takes, do not allow anyone to buy your conscience,” he stated.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rt. Hon. Dike Duke appreciated executive from the 31 LGAs, stakeholders and coalition partners for being in attendant. He thanked them of the sacrifices they make but regrated that they are suffering in the midst of so much as a result of bad leadership of President Tinubu whom he described as the “worst government” in Nigeria’s democratic history.
“I thank you for coming out to support the progress of the party and the liberation of the State and the nation at large. I want to assure all of you that, no matter the condition, we will succeed and make it. One of our core ethics is that we do not resort to violence. We will defend our vote once it is announced. ADC has nothing to do with money it is about integrity and what you stand for. About seven block and groups and other some notable political parties are in coalition with the ADC Duke stated.
The keynote address was delivered by Prince Ubong Eberefiak, former Deputy Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Akwa Ibom State. Speaking on the topic “Mobilizing Citizens for Effective Change Action,” he stressed the importance of coalition building as a way to rescue the nation from failed governance.
In his paper, Pastor Ekom-obong Akpan spoke on “Stakeholder Engagement as a Nexus to Good Governance,” where he emphasized the need for transparency and inclusiveness in today’s democratic systems.
The event marked a significant step in strengthening political coalitions committed to real change, as the ADC positions itself as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s evolving political land.
