Akwa Ibom’s renowned sensational wrestler, POWER VIC is set to face Enugu State-born contender, Mr. Agbo Chinedu in a showdown for the National Light Heavyweight Championship in Awka, Anambra State.
A press statement signed by the Chairman, Central Planning Committee for Power Vic, Dr Saviour Ekpe in Lagos and made available to Century Newsfront indicates that the highly anticipated event, organised by the Nigerian Professional Wrestling Federation, will take place in Awka, Anambra State, from September 26 to 28, 2025.
The championship match is being coordinated under the leadership of NPWF President, High Chief John Uche, and promises to be one of the most electrifying bouts in Nigeria’s wrestling calendar this year.
POWER VIC, whose real name is Victor Ebenezer Idorenyin, hails from Ikot Iyire, Edemeya in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Trained in the United Kingdom has garnered multiple championship titles both within Nigeria and internationally.
Known for his combination of athleticism and raw strength, POWER VIC has built a reputation as a formidable force in the ring. His dynamic style—ranging from aerial manoeuvres to powerful slams—has consistently thrilled audiences and intimidated opponents.

Beyond his achievements in the ring, POWER VIC is also recognised for his community engagement. In anticipation of the championship, the Central Planning Committee has called on stakeholders to support POWER VIC’s campaign for national glory. The committee is appealing for financial and moral support from the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D; the Executive Chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Hon. Ime Williamson Essien; corporate bodies; and well-meaning individuals.
