… Rounds Off November Meeting, CPC Presents Final Report
… As President General Rejigs Office With New Appointment
The Amalgamated Newspaper Publishers Association (ANPA), Akwa Ibom State on Friday held its November general meeting as the Central Planning Committee submitted their final reports with an assurance of all-round success in the weeklong event slated to commence today Sunday November with a Thanksgiving at the Apostolic Church Nigeria, 69 Oron Road.
In his remarks, the ANPA President General, Pastor Osuini-Abasi Alfred thanked the CPC for their hard work, commitment and dedication, which has made it possible for the assurance so given.
Earlier, presenting the report the Central Planning Committee Chairman (CPC), Elder Patrick Albert thanked the President for entrusting them with the responsibility as well as members for their unflinching support.
Elder Patrick Albert used the opportunity to unveil the programme of event for the Publishers week, which according to him, starts on the 9th – 13th of October, 2025 to include road walk; novelty football match with the Aides to the Governor; dinner/award night among others.
Speaking further, the former NUJ boss assured that it will be an unforgettable event in history where the Publishers will come under one fold in unity.
High point of the event was the announcement of the appointment of three Special Assistants to the President General, Pastor Osuini-Abasi Alfred to rejig his office as follows: 1. Comrade Mbosowo Essien – SA on Media And Publicity 2. Comrade Henshaw Nyong – SA on Strategic Communication and 3. Comrade Wilson David – SA on General Duties.
Pastor Osuini-Abasi in his remarks said the appointment became necessary to further add style, strength and vigour to the office of the President General and charged the appointees to be diligent in the discharge of their given roles.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the SA on Media and Publicity who is the Publisher of The Strides Newspaper, Comrade Mbosowo Essien thanked the PG for entrusting them with such responsibilities and assured not to let down the confidence reposed on them.
