…Charges Newspaper Publishers to support ‘Arise Agenda’
…Says ANPA members should step up their Journalistic engagement
The Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium and the Oku Ibom Ibibio, His Eminence, ETTENYIN (Dr.) Solomon D. Etuk has charged Newspaper publishers and journalists in the State to throw their weight behind the State Governor, describing him as a “Promise Keeper” who has redefined governance in Akwa Ibom State with his ARISE Agenda mantra.
The revered monarch made this statement when the Amalgamated Newspaper Publishers Association (ANPA), Akwa Ibom State, paid him a courtesy visit to inform him of their upcoming ANPA Week celebration, slated for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at CEEDAPEC HOTELS AND SUITES, Uyo
For the Grand Patron Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Pastor Eno has redefined governance with his ARISE Agenda mantra, a philosophy that has made our teeming youths more useful to themselves as hitherto was the case.
According to Oku Ibom, Governor Eno’s administration has made significant strides in empowering the youth and fulfilling campaign promises, earning him the title of a true leader. The monarch, who is also a staunch member of the National Traditional Rulers Council, Nigeria, praised the media for always highlighting the governor’s 5-Star achievements and promoting his brand.
Responding, Elder Patrick Albert, the Chairman of Central Planning Committee and former NUJ Chairman hailed Oku Ibom as a father figure who represents the Ibibio race and Akwa Ibom State with dignity. He announced that ANPA would be bestowing the award of PILLAR OF TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION on the monarch during the upcoming celebration.
“We came to tap your Royal blessings for our event which is Thursday day and to officially inform you of the award of a PILLAR OF TRADITIONAL INSTITUTION that will be bestowed on him on Thursday, he said.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Media who is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ANPA, Comrade Ernest Akpan thanked Oku Ibom for his unwavering support and commitment to traditional duties, describing him as a true patriot. The Paramount Ruler, in his response, emphasized the importance of protecting the governor’s projects and promoting the Arise Agenda, which encourages creativity and self-reliance.
Oku Ibom also expressed gratitude to ANPA for the award, stating that Governor Eno would not let Akwa Ibom down, citing the numerous projects underway. “My position demands utmost care, as I intercede for the errant and offer forgiveness. God’s guidance is my compass, ensuring every step I take is divinely sanctioned. Let’s champion the Arise Agenda, which fosters innovation and self-sufficiency, for I firmly believe that when our oil reserves dwindle, our Palm oil, our people’s skills and hard work will be our saving grace – let’s safeguard our government’s projects!” He advised.
In his vote of thanks, Comrade Ephraim Ikpe thanked the host for being a good representative of the Traditional stool from Akwa Ibom in the State and in the national. He saluted the humility of the Paramount Ruler describing it as worthy of emulation. The event was filled with praise and admiration for the monarch’s leadership and vision.
