Kris Ekefre Presents The Crux of Leadership To The DG Tinubu Support Group In Abuja

By Our Correspondent

Abuja – The Chairman of Eyewitness Network, Kris Ekefre has presented his latest book, The Crux of Leadership, to the Director General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, in Abuja today.

The book, which explores the challenges, responsibilities and sacrifices associated with leadership, is built around the timeless notion that “uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.” It examines the burdens borne by leaders and the difficult decisions they must make in the pursuit of national development and public service.

Speaking during the presentation, Ekefre noted that leadership is not merely about occupying positions of authority but about demonstrating courage, vision, resilience and commitment to the welfare of the people. According to him, The Crux of Leadership seeks to inspire current and future leaders to embrace the demands of leadership with integrity and a sense of responsibility.

Receiving the book, Dr. Yakasai commended the author for contributing to the national discourse on leadership and governance. He described the publication as timely, especially at a period when Nigeria is undergoing significant reforms aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and development. The Tinubu Support Group is a body that registers and  coordinates activities of all support groups of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across the 36 states and Abuja.

The presentation also provided an opportunity to reflect on some of the achievements recorded by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu since assuming office in May 2023.

Among the notable achievements highlighted were the removal of fuel subsidy, reforms in the foreign exchange market, expansion of road and infrastructure projects, implementation of the student loan scheme and measures aimed at improving fiscal management and attracting investments into the Nigerian economy. Supporters of the administration argue that these reforms, though challenging, are laying the foundation for long-term economic stability and growth.

Other areas cited include efforts to strengthen human capital development through interventions in education, healthcare and labour, as well as policies designed to encourage local and foreign investment, create jobs and boost productivity.

Observers at the event noted that the themes explored in The Crux of Leadership resonate with the realities of governance, where leaders are often required to make difficult but necessary decisions in the interest of national progress.

The book presentation concluded with a call for greater commitment to visionary leadership, accountability and nation-building, values that the author believes are indispensable for Nigeria’s continued development. Present at the epochal ceremony were eminent Nigerians including the Secretary of Eyewitness Network and Co-author of the book, Hajiya Bera’u Dahiru Auwal.
