That was the atmosphere surrounding the recent birthday celebration of Princess Dr. Victoria Ibokette, FICRPC, FICSP, D.Peace, a Nigerian humanitarian, peace advocate, women’s empowerment champion and Founder and President of the Princess Victoria Ibokette Foundation (PVIF). For one full week, her residence in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital became a gathering point for personalities, friends, political associates, community stakeholders, women, youths and admirers who came to celebrate not merely the anniversary of her birth, but the remarkable difference her life and humanitarian interventions have made in society.
The week-long celebration offered a rare opportunity to pause and reflect on the journey of a woman whose philosophy of “Love Unlimited” has increasingly become synonymous with compassion, empowerment and service to humanity. A society cannot enjoy sustainable peace when children are excluded from education, women are denied opportunities, young people have no hope and vulnerable families are abandoned.
