APC Recognises Eyewitness Network As Support Group, Issues Certificate

By Inemesit Amos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally recognised Eyewitness Network (EWN) as an accredited support group of the party, issuing the organisation a letter of recognition and certificate of registration at its National Secretariat in Abuja.

The recognition documents were received yesterday Friday, October 30, 2026, by the National Director of Eyewitness Network, Exlibris Christopher Ekefre. This was contained in a press release issued by the organisation’s National Secretary, Saviour Ekpe, Ph.D. and made available to Century Newsfront.

Dr Ekpe described the recognition as a “dream come true”, adding that the certificate had positioned the organisation to participate more effectively in APC activities. He expressed confidence in EWN’s capacity to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, citing its established structures across 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with presence at state, local government, ward and unit levels, “With our expanding national presence and established structures across 34 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, making a total of 35 states and the FCT, Eyewitness Network is strategically positioned to contribute meaningfully to the political activities and electoral objectives of the APC. Our structures, which extend across state, local government and ward levels, with some units already operational, constitute a formidable grassroots mobilisation network. We are committed to strengthening, energising and fully activating these structures to ensure effective participation in the political process”.

He disclosed that the organisation would strengthen its nationwide structures and empower members to embark on house-to-house campaigns, direct voter engagement and community mobilisation, targeting both decided and undecided voters to secure wider support for the President’s second-term ambition.

The EWN National Secretary also commended President Tinubu’s reform initiatives, particularly the proposed regional government framework and constitutional reforms towards state policing. He expressed optimism that decentralising the security architecture would enable state governments to take greater responsibility for protecting lives and property and tackling insecurity, “We are particularly encouraged by the proposed regional government framework and the anticipated constitutional reforms towards granting states greater powers and responsibilities, especially in the area of security through the establishment of state police. We believe that a decentralised security architecture, with states taking greater responsibility for the protection of lives and property within their respective jurisdictions, will significantly strengthen the country’s capacity to address insecurity. When fully implemented, these reforms will provide states with the necessary institutional and operational capacity to respond more effectively to security challenges”.

Ekpe consequently called on Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to support the Tinubu administration, assuring the APC leadership that Eyewitness Network would deploy its nationwide structures and human resources towards the party’s electoral success in 2027. He described the recognition as “not just a certificate, but a call to greater responsibility, commitment and service”, the statement added.
