Itu Chairman Flags Off A-4-Week Skills Acquisition Program In ITU LGA

…promises council support towards youth empowerment and capacity building initiative

On Monday 10th November 2025, the Executive Chairman of ITU LGA, Akparawa (Hon) Ubong Wilson Nkutt flagged off A 4 Week Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Program in ITU LGA.

Represented by The Chief of Staff to Council, Hon George Akpan , the Chairman urged participants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn a Skill for self development.

He encouraged ITU people especially the Youths to embrace the opportunity provided by COMMUNITY BASED SKILLS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE, (a Humanitarian NGO) to up skill, emphasizing on the importance of acquiring Skills, especially in the present economic situation in the country.

He commended the President of Community Based Skills Development Initiative, Comr. Ekpemerong Honesty and his partners for choosing ITU LGA to host the program and the vision behind the initiative, which he said aligns with the Vision of HON UBONG NKUTT in the area of Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building. He promised council’s support towards the program as it progresses.

Responding, Comr. Ekpemerong Honesty thanked the Chairman for approving the Council premises for use for the program, saying such approval speaks volumes and signifies the Chairman’s endorsement of the program for the benefit of ITU people. He promised to make the Council proud through the initiative, as a son of the Soil.

Also speaking, the Director of Gift Care Foundation, Pastor Success Okorie thanked Comr Honesty for staging the program in his LGA and commended the Executive Chairman for adopting the vision of the NGO and promised to give out his best to ensure participants gain the requisite knowledge in their respective skills during the period. He assured that with proper support and cooperation from the Council and participants, the Skills Acquisition Program shall record huge success and create lasting impact on the life of HON Nkutt’s administration in ITU LGA Council.

Prayers were offered to commit and consecrate the program to God for guidance and protection of all participants and instructors during and after the program. The Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurial Program shall run for the next 4weeks at the LGA council secretariat, Mbak Atai Itam ITU LGA.
