A former Council Secretary of Itu Local Government Area, Ambassador Emmanuel Ndon, has praised the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, for what he described as compassionate, people-oriented leadership that continues to inspire confidence among citizens across the state.
In an open letter dated March 19, 2026, addressed to the governor, Ndon expressed gratitude for the trust and opportunities extended to him and other citizens under the administration’s development agenda.
According to him, the governor’s leadership has demonstrated a clear vision and strong commitment to human capital development and inclusive governance through the ARISE Agenda.
Ndon, the progenitor of NNyin Imebo Eno recalled receiving the ARISE Ambassadorial Award in 2024 at the Uyo Township Stadium during the celebration of Governor Eno’s first anniversary in office. He noted that the recognition strengthened his resolve to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.
The former council secretary also expressed appreciation for his appointment during the transition period as Council Secretary of Itu Local Government Area, stating that the opportunity affirmed the governor’s confidence in his capacity to serve at the grassroots level.
He further highlighted several development initiatives he was able to execute, including the construction of an ARISE Compassionate Home in his community and the implementation of intervention projects under the Akwa Ibom State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). “These opportunities were not merely positions or privileges, but platforms for service and meaningful community impact,” he stated.
The former council scribe also recounted a personal moment when the governor demonstrated empathy and compassion following the tragic death of his cousin, Mr. Kingsley Ndon, in an accident along the Calabar–Itu Road.
According to him, Governor Eno’s decision to provide a home for the deceased’s children brought comfort to the bereaved family. He described the gesture as a profound act of humanity that underscored the governor’s commitment to people-centered leadership.
The ARISE Ambassador added that beyond his personal experience, the administration’s policies and programmes have continued to positively impact families and communities across Akwa Ibom State. “As 2027 approaches, I reaffirm my support for your administration and remain committed to contributing, within the bounds of the law, to sustaining the progress already achieved,” he said. He concluded by thanking the governor for his trust, compassion and dedication to the development of Akwa Ibom State.
