CSP Ebong Thompson Honours SP Obeten Okorn for Exemplary Service Ahead of Transfer

The Commander of the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CSP Ebong Thompson has honoured and celebrated the Unit’s outgoing Second-in-Command, SP Obeten Okorn, with a colourful farewell ceremony in recognition of his exceptional service, loyalty and commitment to duty.

The event, held yesterday Saturday at the VCRU Office in Uyo shortly after the Unit’s routine morning fitness exercise, marked SP Okorn’s transfer to a new assignment within the Nigeria Police Force.

In his remarks, CSP Thompson described the departing officer as a disciplined, hardworking and dependable professional whose contributions significantly strengthened the operations of the Unit. He commended SP Okorn for his unwavering dedication to service and urged him to uphold the same standards of integrity, diligence and exemplary leadership in his new posting.

As a mark of appreciation, the Unit presented SP Okorn with a brand-new laptop computer, which was handed over by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Administration), ACP Asuquo Ebong. Friends, colleagues and invited guests also made cash presentations in recognition of his invaluable contributions to crime-fighting efforts in Akwa Ibom State.

Speakers at the ceremony applauded CSP Thompson for fostering a culture that rewards commitment, loyalty and outstanding performance among officers. They noted that recognising exemplary service boosts morale, promotes professionalism and encourages personnel to remain dedicated to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.

The guests further encouraged SP Okorn to build on the experience and leadership values he acquired while serving under CSP Thompson as he takes on his new responsibilities.
