…as five Female contestants emerge in ADP, APP, APGA, SDP and ZLP

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of 20 governorship candidates and their running mates for the 2027 Akwa Ibom State governorship election.
The list signed by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, made available to Century Newsfront contains candidates representing 20 political parties, alongside their deputies, ages, gender and educational qualifications.
Among the candidates listed are Umo Bassey Eno of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Jeremiah Udoh Akpan of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA); Michael Bush Mbaba of the Labour Party (LP); Ignatius Cyril Akpan of the Accord (A); Edidiong Effiong Otong of the Action Alliance (AA) and Stephen Mfon Udoh of the African Action Congress (AAC). Other candidates include Inimbom Nsikak Archibong of the Action Democratic Party (ADP); Ibanga Akpan Brownson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); John James Akpanudoedehe of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Stella Monday Jimmy of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The list also features Nsidibe Sampson Udokpan of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM); Emem Umoh of the Action Peoples Party (APP); Akaninyene Efiong Ekpenyong of the Boot Party (BP); Michael Okon Enyong of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Michael Udo Akpan of the National Democratic Party (NDP); Edem Akpan Inemesit of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP); Mfon Udo Ekong of the National Rescue Movement (NRM); Mfonobong Edet George of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP); Rosemary Asuomo Effiong of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Blessing Okon Umo of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The accompanying list identifies the respective deputy governorship candidates and provides information on their educational qualifications. The release of the final list provides voters with an official reference for the candidates and parties participating in the forthcoming election.
