The Eyewitness Network (EWN) has urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, declaring that the administration’s economic, infrastructure and governance reforms provide compelling reasons for the President to secure another term in office. The position was contained in a communiqué issued after a high-level meeting of the Network’s Zonal Directors drawn from the six geo-political zones of the country.
The meeting, chaired by the National Director of the Network, Exlibris Christopher Ekefre, with the support of the Deputy National Director, Hajiya Bera’u Dahiru Auwal and the National Secretary, Dr. Saviour Ekpe, reviewed the performance of the Tinubu administration after three years in office and concluded that the reforms initiated by the President deserve continuity beyond 2027.
According to the Network, despite inheriting severe economic and security challenges, President Tinubu has demonstrated courage and political will by implementing difficult but strategic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth. The communiqué highlighted improved government revenues, stronger public finances, enhanced investor confidence and increased macroeconomic stability as some of the gains recorded under the current administration.
The Network also cited ongoing investments in critical infrastructure, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, rehabilitation of federal roads and expansion of rail transportation, describing them as projects capable of transforming commerce and national productivity. It further commended the administration’s interventions in the oil and gas sector, saying fresh investments, expanded domestic refining capacity and greater emphasis on gas development have strengthened Nigeria’s energy security while creating opportunities for economic growth.
On agriculture, the group noted that government programmes aimed at boosting food production and supporting farmers are laying the foundation for improved food security and reduced dependence on imports. The Eyewitness Network equally praised the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as one of the administration’s landmark achievements that has widened access to tertiary education for thousands of Nigerian students.
The communiqué also acknowledged sustained investments in national security through increased funding, procurement of modern equipment and enhanced welfare for security personnel, noting that the measures have strengthened ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the country. While admitting that recent economic reforms have imposed short-term hardships on many Nigerians, the Network maintained that the policies were necessary to rebuild the nation’s economy and secure long-term prosperity.
The organization therefore appealed to Nigerians to remain patient and supportive, insisting that continuity in leadership would enable the administration to consolidate the gains already recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda. It reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible citizenship, national unity and constructive engagement, expressing confidence that sustained support for President Tinubu would accelerate Nigeria’s journey toward lasting economic stability, infrastructure development, improved governance and national prosperity.
